Hills aka (Hilliard Walter)

As I get older things are becoming clear. One of the best bands I was ever a part of is about to go back into the studio. The JAMBLASTERS was the first band I could be totally satisfied in being a part of. Lee and I will be getting together to start hashing out new material this Saturday July the 14th 2007.This year has been very interesting. Working with one of Canada's Bigest Rock guitarists (Brent Doerner) and his brother (Brian Doerner-SAGA) and learning to play some bass from none other than Brent himself. Get ready there has been ten years plus for the second comming of The JAMBLASTERS. We will be making it posible to download our 1997 tunes right here on this site. FREE you say yes FREE!!! If you love the music well than you can pick a copy up at www.CDBaby.com/Jamblasters. We will put our best foot forward hope you like the tunes!

I have been singing in nightclubs across Canada for almost 30 years. I grew up listening to the splintering 70's music and started a career in singing around the time "New Wave" and "Punk" broke through. The first rock band I was in was out of high school we completed about 2,000 practices and than did about 7 shows before the band split. It was enough to tell me that the music bug will never die.

I watched an interview with Bryan Adams in which he said, "If you love music, it would be better to sing and play to those willing to listen, and avoid the world of music business". After 30 years I am starting to figure where he was coming from. There are a lot of people that present themselves as something they're not! Being able to read people saved me from signing the contracts I was offered. That, and some good advice from Gil Moore. It pay's to go to seminars put on by the music industry.

At seventeen, all I wanted to be was a rock star. After the years I put in on the road, I found out that it really wasn't lights, glitter and good times. It was really hard work. All I can say is, thank god for girls that liked to feed strung out long hair's. I've decided to tone things down a little and get into the roots of music and the local night club scene (a little closer to home!) and I love it (a lot less road rash!).

When on tour in Southern Ontario in the 90's, I met Rick Danko of "The Band". At that time, I was singing with a band called Nasty Nasty. Rick was in Simcoe for his mother's funeral. Rick introduced me to music that I had never heard before on a flat top guitar! It became a rather expensive cd colection at home I must admit and it restored a new found love for music from an even deeper past. When you meet someone with the talent that Rick had, it becomes quite apparent that to become a rock star, one should hone the craft. Rick's "words of wisdom" were, "Just play and have a good time and the rest will come, you'll see"

I have had the great fortune to play music with a whole lot of other excellent musicians. This web page will let you know who some of them are. The guitar of Steve Ofner, the drumming of Rob Taylor, the bass of Alan Affeldt (your presence is sorrowfully missed) and the song writing of Ed Bertoli!

Welcome to 2007. I hope you listen to the tunes my friends and I have recorded for you and hopefully there will be a few you enjoy! Please don't forget to sign the guest book. That is whenever Colin makes it possible to do so. For now E-mails would be cool.
